To Echo Charlie Brown... "Good Grief."

.... my cancer's being a problem again. I have developed a very large tumor in my right breast and have to have a mastectomy sometime in the very near future. I am scheduled to see 3 Denver docs on the 23rd and hopefully it'll be surgery very soon after that. I'd prefer not to wait too much longer, seeing as how I need to get it taken out and then start chemo again as soon as possible.

So that's the latest and the... uh... not-so-greatest. I'm sorry for the discouraging news I'm always sharing, but we'll keep hoping that one of these days I'll get my turn at good news and you all can join in the cheers with me. Keep your fingers crossed, everyone, but don't worry about us. We really, really are doing well, in spite of all this.

In other breaking news... the barn is getting amazing. I have to take some photos to post and will do that soon. In fact, check back tomorrow as I'm hoping to take some then. [Okay, 'tomorrow' has become today and I wasn't able to snap any... we got snow and it's covering up the lovely roof, so photos will have to be postponed. But do check back soon.]
I do have a couple cute ones to share. Here's Clark naively believing that all the rumors about roast cat are false:

Here are Emma and Silverstar posing for their glamour shot:

And here's Gus (on the left) with a buddy who wishes he was as handsome as Gus, but just can't pull it off. (I'm not prejudiced toward Gus, really I'm not! How rude of you to suggest such a thing!)

Lastly, my computer was sent to a data recovery place in Colorado and they called yesterday to say they salvaged my files!!! We won't mention the pricetag... but at least I don't have to go buy a whole new computer and start over. That's worth a whale of a lot, in my opinion.

Oh, the cancer thing is just sooo the pitts WAAAHHH, however we've communicated about that already so on to the cat in the roasting pan. Cats really DO think they reign supreme, don't they? And Gus' (Gus's, Guses???...English experts I need help here..) buddy...he IS as handsome as Gus, in fact they look like twins...no offence to you and your fondness for Gus, Michelle Hooo ray about the computer resurrection...and lastly...I'll be checking back for pix of the barn.

Love you bunches, Renee

Please do keep us updated about the DR. appts, my dear! We may not be able to be IN the dr's office with you, but we will be there in spirit, ok?!

I look forward to seeing pictures of the barn! I was asking Brent about it this morning and he seemed quite pleased with the progress. That's great!

Oh, and about your pictures of your horses...you kind of remind me of the "Confessions of a Pioneer Woman" website because she's always posting about her horses, too. I think if you two ever met, you'd be great friends! :)

All for now! Love ya!

Michelle, I want to be like you when I grow up. I love you, and I love your attitude. Nuff said.

Rats and double rats......but let's remember Jocelyn's words "Death to cancer cells!" Get that tumor out of there and then we'll all do the death to cancer cell chant as you plow through chemo!!!

Alright! Glad to hear the barn is getting more and more amazing --- can't wait to see it!

The cat? Well, that looks like a good place for a cat to me!!!:) hee hee

The computer? YAY YAY YAY!!! I bet that news was cause for a bit of celebration!!

Take care, and I agree with Jen.... there will be lots of us "with you" in Denver!

Ditto to all of the notes. We all need to be a help to each other. You have been a great help to all of us thru this time, it was supposed to be the other way 'round.
I too think Gus and his buddy are handsome. Something about those animals that work their way into our hearts.
Cats too, WE are their pets, not the other way 'round.
Horray for the computer!! Our lifeline to organization and work. Hugs, Kathy C

Others have already said what I feel about your latest turn of events. You are quite the lady, showing much grace in the face of adversity. You know you'll have a lot of prayer lifted on your behalf. Hope the "outhouse" has been "outsourced"!:-)I love your pictures. You should be on the photo challenge blog.

In a large town I once saw the "Party Barn"! I think that would be a perfect title to add to the Snelling Ranch! How could you not when you have such tremendous animals and your photos capture a personality that I never witness here! :)
We're getting the cheerleading squad limbered up! Take care and keep in touch with yet another phase you are plowing through! Thanks for inspiring us to keep fighting too! :)
Take special care and keep encouraged!

Our thoughts go your way more than you ever could imagine. Best wishes for a quick rocovery from the surgery. I'm so glad they could recover your computer contents - I'm sure you breathed a sigh of relief when you found that out. Say, you need another cat? We seem to be attracting them over here, and I was happy with just one. I'd even deliver it for free! Love, Karen F.

You are really an amazing photographer. Sorry to hear you are going to have to go another round...Like others, I really appreciate your attitude, spirit, etc. It softens me. I just love your crazy animals. My cat seems to think the same way!

"Good Grief" is right! I am so sorry to hear that the cancer has raised it's ugly head again. My heart goes out to you.
I love the pictures you posted. They all show such beauty. They remind me of a thought passed on in a letter. We need to think thoughts that edify our souls. The "unedifying" thoughts are just like Philistines, they keep coming back and need defeating over and over again. We should think on things like Phil 4, "whatsoever things are pure," etc.

Oh Michelle,
Ditto on the "love your attitude" comment...what an inspiration you are to many, many others. Don't know what else to say, except that I'm hoping for the best with this latest episode and hope you slay this nasty beast once & for all...sometime soon!! Hugs =)

Hi Michelle,

I'm a bloghopper! I enjoy checking in every once in awhile, so thought I'd comment. I love your photography, animals, etc, but most of all your positive attitude in the midst of the "not so great" news. We'll be thinking of you also and hoping for the best.

Greetings from Elk Mtn. Can't think of an "original" note to let you know we're sending thoughts and prayers your way! Keep that camera handy...a picture is worth a thousand words! Wonder how you get your subjects "so posed"? You could open a big can of worms by "roasting the cat".
Keep a goin! Kathy Wms

I just talked to Renee, and she suggested giving up on the "Sign-in" process, and just going Anonymous, so I'll see if I can finally get a note off to you! (I admit being unbelievably technologically challenged!) I go into your site OFTEN, and then leave with my heart wrapped around you. I'm 60 years old, and can STILL say "Me too!" to Lainey's comment ~ (01/20/08). I SO admire you guys! I think they need to empty out a whole wing in the hospital to make room for everyone's thoughts and hearts that are there with you!!!
Michelle, you ALMOST convince me to be an avid pet lover! Not yet, but ALMOST...keep the pictures coming!
Love,
Don and Jeanie P

Hi Michelle,
I'm another blog hopper. I know a few folk in common w/ you from meeting Shauna & Nichole when they were in Manitoba for Conventions. Your upbeat attitude is so refreshing & you are in my thoughts often. Love your photos - your kindness is quite evident to your pets too I can tell! :)
I'm not nearly so entertaining, but you are welcome to peek at my blog anytime too.
Take care & best wishes - Lynda
